Britney Rochette
Get to know me!
Hello there! I am so glad you are visiting my portfolio and stumbled onto this page. In case we've never met before, let me introduce myself, my name is Britney Rochette and I am from Northeast Tennessee. Born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, i've been taught to treasure the outdoors, make memories worth holding on to, and to be passionate about people and occupations. I take those lessons to heart, I strive to be passionate about my work, the people that surround me, and attempt to make time for the things around me that bring myself and others joy.
I graduated from East Tennessee State University in May of 2020 with a bachelors of science degree in media and communications. My focus was in advertising and public relations with a double minor in radio, TV, film and digital media. While in school, I worked full time for Pal's Sudden Service as a key holder, as well as, for ETSU's Department of Media and Communication, where I was the student manager for the department's media lab and equipment room. I was a member of ETSU's National Student Advertising Competition team in 2019 and 2020. In 2020, we placed first in our region, first in our district, and 7th in the nation. While in college, I also held several different intern positions for local non-profits, economic groups, and congressional campaigns.
After college, I was hired on to work at a local advertising agency, Cumberland Marketing, where I have held several positions. I started as a Creative Intern, then became a full-time Creative Producer, was promoted to the Production Coordinator, and as of a year ago I am currently the Director of Project Management. In addition to Cumberland Marketing, I am also employed as a contract graphic designer for ETSU's Martin Center for the Arts. You're probably wondering why I jumped from a creative role to a management one and it's quite a simple answer...I found out I was an Enneagram one. Although I love creating, I came to realize that my skillset is a better fit for a management role. I am very detail-oriented (maybe too much) and a perfectionist...I am the oneiest Enneagram one you will ever meet. I thrive in fast-paced settings with high pressure and a lot to do. I can't stand being idle.
In my free time, I serve on the Downtown Johnson City Marketing Committee and am a member of the Young Professionals of Johnson City. Through those two organizations, I spend a lot of my free time volunteering for local non-profits and for events happening in downtown Johnson City. I love being involved in my community and giving back some of time to others. In the Spring and Summer, you can find me serving on the planning committee for Johnson City's annual Meet the Mountains Festival. In years past, I've served as the Music/Marketing Chair and as the Vendor Chair. I also tend to spend time serving my local church or being involved in crew groups. Because of my volunteer work, in October of 2022 I became a member of the 2022 class of the Tri-Cities Business Journal's 40 under 40.
I am avid believer in the need to burn off the day at the gym, so most days after work is done you can find me at the boxing gym or at the regular ole gym. I love hanging out with my family, friends, and 2 wiener dogs (their technically my parents but I claim them as my own). I love watching crime shows, The Office, New Girl, Parks and Recreation, and Saturday Night Live.
If you made it all the way to end, thank you for reading my whole life story essentially. I hope you enjoyed my website and feel free to contact me, I would love to hear from you!
Thank you!
A glimpse into my life...
